Limin Jia, Research Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University and member of the CyLab, the university’s computer security and privacy institute, will be the guest lecturer of the last session of the FEUP’s Department of Informatics Engineering “DEI Talks”.
The lecture entitled “On the State of Client-Side Web Vulnerabilities: DOM-XSS and JavaScript Libraries” will be presented on July 24th, at 2:30 p.m., in room B006 of FEUP, moderated by Alexandra Mendes, Assistant Professor at FEUP and CMU Portugal Faculty member.
The researcher will present two tools she created to detect hidden security flaws, not in the servers, but in the code itself that runs in the user’s browser (the “client-side”).
Llimin Jia is the supervisor of several CMU Portugal Affiliated and Dual Ph.D. students: Filipe Marques, João Pereira José Afonso, Nuno Sabino, and Rafael Gonçalves. She will also serve as PI at CMU of the exploratory project “QSHIELD: Quantitative Program Analysis for Improving LLM Code Generation” recently selected for funding by the CMU Portugal Program through FCT.
