On October 21st, Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa (FCUL) will hold the 8th edition of the CIÊNCIAS Research & Innovation Day, with the afternoon session starting at 2:00 PM in the Faculty’s Auditorium.
This year, one of the highlights will be the Distinguished Lecture by Professor Irene Fonseca, a Carnegie Mellon University faculty member and a key collaborator of the CMU Portugal Program, who will present the talk The Mathematics of Imaging. Professor Irene Fonseca, FCUL’s alumna, was awarded the Universidade de Lisboa’s Prize for her scientific career and contribution to Mathematics and was recently featured, once again, in Forbes Portugal’s list of Powerful women in business, in the category of Education and Science.
The event is open to the public but subject to available seating.
