Inês Lynce, the National co-director of the CMU Portugal Program, was appointed as a member of the National Council for Science, Technology and Innovation (CNCTI). The new commission took office on November 5th, at Técnico Innovation Center, in a ceremony with the presence of the Prime Minister, followed by an initial working meeting.
The CNCTI is an advisory body to the Government in the areas of science, technology and innovation, working in close collaboration with members of the Government responsible for the areas of economy, science and technology to develop, strengthen, and sustain the national scientific and technological system, providing scientific advice and fostering the transversal and inter ministerial dialogue of science, technology and innovation policies. This new advisory body will also collaborate in parliamentary debates on science, technology and innovation, whenever requested by the Assembly of the Republic.
Inês Lynce, who is also President of INESC-ID and Full Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico, is among the 20 people selected for their recognized merit representing R&D institutions, technology and innovation centers, higher education institutions, clinical academic centers, science and technology networks and consortiums, the business community, and the international scientific community.
CNCTI is now chaired by Carlos Oliveira, entrepreneur,member of the European Innovation Council Advisory Board at the European Commission, former Secretary of State for Entrepreneurship, Competitiveness and Innovation at the Portuguese Government.
