Before joining the CMU Portugal Program, he worked at Korea Development Bank and Korea Finance Corporation which are Korea’s policy-based financing institutions. He holds B.S. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and M.S. in Technology Management from Seoul National University, and M.S. in Development Policy from KDI School.
Chen Wang
Chen Wang is a Research Staff Member at the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center. Her research interests lie in the Container Cloud Platform, Cloud Management and Control, Reinforcement Learning/Machine Learning based Cloud management, user experience driven service management, etc.
Alex Gaudio
Alex Gaudio researches explainable machine learning, signal processing and the analysis of heart and lung sounds. Alex is a postdoctoral fellow at Johns Hopkins University. In 2023, he received a Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), a Ph.D. from the University of Porto, and an M.S. from CMU. He was honored as a Champion of Social Justice for his non-profit, NYC Makerspace in 2018, and he worked as a data scientist and engineer in New York City for seven years (2011-2018). He received a B.A. in jazz performance and composition at Bard College, during which time he also worked as an Emergency Medical Technician in ambulances and in a hospital.
