Brian Ebiyau is a Ph.D. student whose research lies at the intersection of computer vision, deep learning, and embedded systems. His research focuses on developing efficient machine learning methods and models for edge computing environments. He is supervised by Professor Jaime S. Cardoso in Portugal and Professor Anthony Rowe at CMU.
André Catarino has worked in both industry and research institutions across software engineering, energy, and finance, building AI systems from ideation and experimentation to deployment and monitoring. His research bridges AI4SE and SE4AI, focusing on secure code generation and advancing secure and reliable coding agents.
I am a CMU Portugal dual-degree ECE PhD student at Carnegie Mellon and FEUP, holding an M.S. in Engineering AI from CMU-Africa. My research focuses on the mechanistic interpretability of vision-language models, visual grounding, and medical AI explainability.
After doing my Masters in 2021 I’ve worked in the Embedded Systems field for 4 years. With this new experience I’ve decided exploring new ideas and furthering science is the kind of work I would like to be doing.
