Universidade de Aveiro will host the workshop “From Nanomaterials to Quantum Technologies: Bridging Materials, Photonics and Devices” on October 29th 2026, from 15:30 to 17:00, at the Amphitheatre of the Department of Physics (Building 13), and it will be broadcast on Zoom.
The event will feature presentations by Brian A. Korgel of The University of Texas at Austin and Elias Towe, a faculty member at Carnegie Mellon University and a collaborator of the CMU Portugal Program.
Rute A. S. Ferreira (CICECO – Aveiro Institute of Materials) will open the event with a talk, and the session will wrap up with a roundtable discussion moderated by Paula Vilarinho (Universidade de Aveiro) focused on the challenges and opportunities involved in translating materials research into real-world technological applications.
The event is open to everyone and does not require previous registration.
