Robots Are Going to Change Our Lives Soon
Carnegie Mellon University Machine Learning Department Head and Carnegie Mellon Portugal Program Principal Investigator, Manuela Veloso, is the highlight of the economics section of the Expresso newspaper.

The Portuguese weekly publication interviewed Professor Veloso during her recent visit to Portugal as a speaker at the annual meeting of the Portuguese Diaspora Council, an organization focused on the effort of promoting Portugal’s reputation abroad and reaching out to the immigrant communities. Delivering a positive outlook on the future, Manuela Veloso insists that we do not forget that we created robots and they will be what we make of them, “They’re here to help us. We invented them. ”

Professor Veloso also talks about her cobots and explains how they work. They are also listed in an infographic as one of the recent developments of robotics and AI, some examples that showcase the diversity of the research being done in both fields.
