Workshop on Agent Approaches to Networked Systems
Date: July 21, 2011 (from 10am to 3 pm)
In the context of the MAIS+S project (http://mediawiki.isr.ist.utl.pt/wiki/MAIS-S) and some research that has been developed by the CMU partners on agent technology for the SmartGrid, it is being organized a workshop on Agent Approaches to Networked Systems.
The primary goal of this workshop is to bring together people in both academy and industry working on (a) multiagent systems and/or (b) networked systems, and foster the discussion on common problems faced in both lines of work. Common challenges include:
a) Scalability of control methods in networked systems with the number of nodes in the network;
b) Scalability of planning/control methods in multiagent systems with the number of agents;
c) Tolerance to communication errors;
d) Exploitation of local dependencies between nodes in networked systems;
e) Exploitation of local dependencies between agents in multiagent systems;
f) Handling of local information in networked systems;
g) Handling of local information in multiagent systems;
h) Applications (surveillance networks, power distribution networks, etc.);
i) …
The workshop will take place on Thursday, July 21st, from 10am to 3pm. Details on the venue will be provided soon.
In order to organize the schedule, if you are interested in attending the workshop and feel that there may be interest in the community to know about your work, please send an e-mail to fmelo@inesc-id.pt with a brief description/abstract of whatever work you intend to present. If you are planning to attend, even not presenting any work, please send an e-mail to fmelo@inesc-id.pt stating that.
