Patient Innovation – Online Platform Where Patients Share Their Innovative Solutions
Patient Innovation’s Chief Medical Officer, Helena Canhão, wrote an opinion article for a Portuguese online media specialized in health, ”Tempo Medicina Online”.
The article is mainly about the challenges in the health field and the intervention of information and communication technologies (ICT) in new therapies.
The Patient Innovation project aims to create an international, multilingual, non-profit platform and social network to connect patients and caregivers, and enable the sharing of their solutions. This project counts on the support of a team of international experts in many areas, from the most highly ranked Institutions and Universities in the world, as members of its Advisory Board and Project Supporters. Patient Innovation has also partnered with almost two dozen patient associations from Portugal, Serbia, Croatia, Malaysia, Australia, United Kingdom and United States.
Patient Innovation is related with the Entrepreneurial Research Initiatives ” Technology, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Policy Lab ” (TEIPL), carried out in the scope of the CMU Portugal Program, funded by the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia.
