Now, It is the base of large U.S. companies including HJ Heinz, Alcoa, U.S. Steel, PNC Financial Services, and one of the most important research schools, Carnegie Mellon University which contributed dramatically to the emergence of companies specializing in biotechnology, renewable energy and software”.
