Cutting-Edge Researchers
Virgilo Benedict and Francisco Saraiva de Melo are two young researchers from Guarda, highlighted this year. (…) Francisco Melo, an assistant professor at Instituto Superior Técnico of the Universidade Técnica de Lisboa (IST/UTL) and researcher at the INESC ID in Lisbon, is leading a project that aims to automate part of the process control and operational maintenance of the surveillance network, allowing the dedication of the human supervisor only to the most critical interventions. The project is called “MAIS-S: Multi-Agent System for Intelligent Surveillance” and it is one of the 22 research projects developed in the scope of the Carnegie Mellon Portugal Program, which is funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology.
