The 2014 edition of the LARSyS Summer School will take place between 8 and 11 July, at the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), in Lisbon, Portugal, and will be focusing on the theme “Multi-agent systems: distributed decision-making, signal processing and optimization.”
With João Xavier, assistant professor at IST, as the scientific chair, the program of the LARSyS Summer School contains both general and more focused lectures, and covers hot research topics in distributed multi-agent systems from signal processing, control, and optimization.
José M. F. Moura, director of the CMU Portugal Program at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), will be doing a presentation titled “Data Science: Rethinking DSP,” while Dragana Bajović, Dušan Jakovetić and João Mota, alumni of the dual degree Ph.D. program in Electrical and Computer Engineering are doing presentations on “Distributed Inference in Wireless Sensor Networks,” “Distributed Optimization in Multi-agent Systems,” and “Communication-Efficient Algorithms for Distributed Optimization,” respectively.
The Summer School is organized by LARSyS, an Associate Laboratory that gathers six R&D units from four Portuguese Universities (Instituto Superior Técnico of the Universidade de Lisboa, Faculdade de Ciências of the Universidade de Lisboa, Universidade dos Açores and Universidade da Madeira).
Registration is free, but seats are limited. To register, please send e-mail to Ana Mateus (ana.mateus@ist.utl.pt).
