Huiyan Zhang
I am a Ph.D. candidate in technological change and entrepreneurship from Heinz College of Carnegie Mellon University, an interdisciplinary academic program co-hosted with Catolica Lisbon School of Business and Economics. My research inquiry concentrates on economics of innovation with a focus on firm innovation strategy in emerging economy. I’m particularly interested in what incentivizes (or impedes) firms to make influential innovation, how do firms strategically transform their (patented) inventions into competitive advantage, as well as the policy and social-welfare implications of firm innovation strategy.
