Francisco Guedes

I completed a Bologna Degree in Information Systems and Computer Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico (2017-2020) followed by a Bologna Master Degree in Computer Science and Engineering where I specialized in Artificial Intelligence and Engineering & Data Science (2020-2023). I worked at Caixa Geral de Depósitos as an AI Engineer (2023-2024).

Ziqi Huang

Ziqi Huang is a PhD student in Computer Science and Engineering with a diverse research background spanning image super-resolution, facial recognition, audio signal analysis, and wireless signal processing. Currently, Ziqi’s research focuses on river soundscapes, leveraging advanced computational methods to analyze and classify bioacoustic signals. Through this work, Ziqi aims to contribute not only to the field of biology but also to raise public awareness about the importance of ecological preservation and the rich complexity of aquatic ecosystems.

José Maria Senart

José Senart did his first University year of studies in computer science and at the end transferred to Engineering Physics, where he completed his bachelor’s degree. 

José Pedro Gomes

José Pedro Gomes is a Ph.D. student working in the intersection of computer graphics, computer vision, and deep learning. Aiming to push the boundaries of generative models to create visually stunning and immersive virtual environments. José is supervised by Prof. Fernando De La Torre at CMU and Prof. Alexandre Bernardino in Portugal.

Pedro Cachim

Pedro Cachim holds a dual Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering from IST and ISAE-SUPAERO and works as a guidance, navigation and control engineer at GMV. His PhD research will focus on the provably safe and performant implementation of optimization-based guidance and control algorithms.

Diana Fernandes

Diana Vieira Fernandes is a PhD student in Engineering and Public Policy at Instituto Superior Técnico and Carnegie Mellon University under the CMU Portugal Program. She holds a Law Degree and a Master’s in Law and Management (NOVA Law School and NOVA SBE). Her research focuses on secure, distributed electricity markets in low-voltage networks.

Pedro Oliveira

Pedro is a Ph.D. student in Computer Science at Instituto Superior Técnico. He got a MSc in Telecommunications and Informatics Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico and worked in network architecture of IP/MPLS and SD-WAN networks at Nokia. Currently he is doing research on the security of Machine Learning systems that are at the core of future Self-Driving Networks.

Filipe Marques

I am a PhD Student in Computer Science and Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico (Técnico), where I am very fortunate to be advised by Prof. José Fragoso Santos and Prof. Nuno Santos. I am also a junior researcher at INESC-ID, working on applying software verification and testing tools to support computer science students in their learning process. My research interests are mainly in programming languages, software verification and validation, formal methods, and cybersecurity. Previously, I completed my MSc in Computer Science and Engineering at Tecnico. My dissertation, entitled Robust Symbolic Execution for WebAssembly, was supervised by Prof. José Fragoso Santos and Prof. Nuno Santos and was defended on December 2022.
