On September 7th, 18 CMU Portugal students participated in CMU Day at PNC Park, hosted by Pittsburgh’s Major League Baseball team, the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The attending students were from five CMU departments: Computer Science (CS), Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), Engineering and Public Policy (EPP), Language Technologies (LTI), and Software and Societal Systems (S3D). The students were also from 6 Portuguese Universities: Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia, Universidade Nova de Lisboa (FCT NOVA), Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto (FEUP), Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Universidade de Aveiro, Universidade de Coimbra, and Universidade do Minho.
This was a great way to kick off the fall semester as the Program welcomes 12 new students who are spending their first semester in Pittsburgh: 5 Affiliated PhDs and 7 Dual Degree PhDs.
Later in the semester, the CMU Portugal Program will also welcome 12 visiting students and faculty members, who will be joining the CMU Portugal community in Pittsburgh.
The Program will also be opening a new call for Dual Degree PhD students. Be on the lookout for the announcement on our website, or you can sign up for our newsletter.
