On July 20, a group of nine CMU Portugal students took a well-deserved break from their studies in Pittsburgh to experience Fallingwater, a house museum in the beautiful mountains of Southwestern Pennsylvania designed by renowned American architect Frank Lloyd Wright.
The day trip offered a fantastic way to celebrate the end of the summer semester as the CMU Portugal Program prepares for an exciting Fall ahead.

Attending students represented a diverse showcase of the vibrant CMU Portugal academic community currently studying in Pittsburgh, spanning six CMU departments: Computer Science (CSD), Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), Language Technologies Institute (LTI), Machine Learning (MLD), Robotics Institute (RI) and Societal Engineering (S3D); and six Portuguese institutions: Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade do Porto (FCUP), Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto (FEUP), Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Universidade de Coimbra, Universidade do Minho, and Universidade do Porto.
In the Fall, the community will grow even bigger – welcoming 9 new Dual Degree PhD students (including four starting their Program in Pittsburgh), as well as 19 visiting students and faculty members.
