Oliver Williamson The name chosen for the prize in Economic Science in memory of Alfred Nobel, The Nobel Prize in Economics, surprised almost everyone. Oliver Williamson, started his career as a student at MIT, Stanford, then went through and finished a Ph.D. at Carnegie Mellon University. He received the news of being the Nobel Price winner, just 15 days after turning into 77 years.
