The launch ceremony, under the High Patronage of His Excellency The President of Portugal, will bring together leading scholars and scientists, “patient-innovators” and representatives of patient associations.
The list of speakers will include the Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine, Sir Richard Roberts, Prof. Eric von Hippel (MIT), Tal Golesworthy (“the man who fixed his own heart”), Louis Plante (“the cystic fibrosis patient who intented the Frequencer”), Diogo Lopes (“the young pianist who found that piano exercises help him fight his disease”) and Ivan Owen (“the artist who 3D prints fingers and hands”)
This online platform and social network (international, multilingual and non-profit) aims to facilitate the sharing of innovative solutions developed by patients or caregivers of any disease and is the result of research led by Católica-Lisbon. The CMU Portugal Program, funded by the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, is one of the partners that is deeply involved.
