SCRAIM participates in LaunchCMU in Silicon Valley

CMU Portugal 2015 inRes Team SCRAIM participates in LaunchCMU in Silicon Valley

Scraim SV CMULaunch may 2016 Scraim, one of the four teams of the 2015 edition of inRes, the early stage acceleration program of the CMU Portugal Program, funded by the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, will be participating in the Launch Carnegie Mellon University (LaunchCMU) event in Silicon Valley, on May 25. Organized by the university’s Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE), LaunchCMU is a Technology Startup and Research Showcase.

“This invitation represents the possibility of being side by side with Silicon Valley leading companies and it is the result of our relation with CMU, one of the top research universities in the U.S.”, claims Pedro Castro Henriques, Scraim CEO.

The startup was invited after the founders’ participation in the last year edition of LaunchCMU, during their inRes immersion in Pittsburgh.

“We recognize that there are already tools that perform some project management and process management functions, but few combine the best international practices in these two areas, for the benefit of businesses and to support their continuous improvement. Scraim is an accelerator of international certifications, enabling our customers to achieve this goal four times faster at a six times lower cost. It is in this niche that we are present, and where we want to be the best”, explains Pedro Castro Henriques.

The CMU link has been a constant in Scraim’s efforts since the beginning of the project.

“Without CMU Portugal, we would have not had access to the 120 companies we contacted, and the 30 companies we met with in presence, just in the first two weeks of the inRes immersion, in 2015. We spent 2 months in the U.S., contacting top technological companies from the East and West Coast (California, Pittsburgh and Washington)”, says the Scraim CEO.

It was also as a result of its participation in inRes that Scraim received an investment of 50.000 € from Caixa Capital.

During this visit to the U.S., Scraim’s founders Pedro Castro Henriques and César Duarte also expect to meet several companies, and have already organized a workshop, rated five stars by the participants, at one of the world’s largest process improvement event, the Capability Maturity Model Integration Global Conference USA.
