Followprice – Facebook’s ‘Like’ Button but for Online Shopping
It all started with a lunch and a PowerPoint with just two slides in 2014. Let’s jump in time: Followprice is responsible for the solution that is already in four hundred retail websites, a button that creates an alert for the product’s price and availability in online commerce.

According to the founders, with this solution, shoppers can save their products in a single display, subscribing to receive price and stocks alerts from online stores, through email and Facebook notifications. But it’s not just the customers who have their task made easier – there are also advantages for the sellers: “E-commerce sites gain valuable insight into demand and market trends by knowing what products are being followed and are able to contact these potential buyers directly”. Thus, Followprice bases its business model on the solution’s performance, with commissions per sale generated.

The monthly magazine PCGuia, specialized in all consumer electronics news, interviewed Followprice for this profile article on the online version of its publication.
