CMU Portugal’s João Semedo Awarded a Doctoral Scholarship
In December 2016, João Semedo was selected to receive a Bertucci Graduate Fellowship – a prize of US $ 20,000. He is currently working in Professor Byron Yu’s laboratory at Carnegie Mellon University, focusing on the analysis of neuronal signals, in order to study the principles and mechanisms that control the propagation of information in the various areas of the brain.

The weekly regional publication, Alto Alentejo, does a brief summary of João Semedo’s childhood and his early achievements, as local bright student that seemed prepared for growing success. It also reproduces, in Portuguese, the interview published in this website, “ECE Ph.D. Student João Semedo selected to receive Bertucci Graduate Fellowship”.
