Filipe Condessa, PhD dual degree student at the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) and Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), won first prize for students at the International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS 2015). This is the world’s leading event in its field, hosted by the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society.
In the paper, titled “Supervised Hyperspectal Image Classification with Rejection” the authors, Filipe Condessa and his advisors, propose a new classification model for large images, such as, images collected by a satellite or from aircraft.
Filipe Condessa is a dual degree PhD student in the Electrical and Computer Engineering doctoral program, supervised by José Bioucas-Dias, from IST and Jelena Kovačević, from CMU.
