Biofuels threaten to destroy the Gulf of Mexico
The goal was to reduce 500 acres of the so called ” dead zone ” in the Gulf of Mexico, the largest hypoxic zone in the world, where the excessive blooms of algae, stimulated by pollution, leads to oxygen depletion. However, the ambitious goal of the U.S.A. to stop the destruction of many natural habitats is far from reality.
