ICTI Professors Pedro Aguiar and João Xavier, co-authors along with Marko Stösic, all from the Instituto Superior Técnico, were named recipients of NTT DoCoMo’s USA Labs Innovative Paper Award. The authors presented their paper, “Globally optimal solution to exploit rigidity when recovering structure from motion under occlusion,” at the 2008 IEEE International Conference on Image Processing held the week of October 12, 2008, in San Diego California. Aguiar and Xavier are both faculty members with the Carnegie Mellon|Portugal program from the Instituto Superior Técnico at the Technical University of Lisbon, respectively. They are also both members of IST’s Institute for Systems and Robotics.
