The strange name ‘Magellan’ – the name chosen for Porto Business School’s (PBS) MBA – refers to the Portuguese navigator Fernão de Magalhães, the first European to sail the Pacific Ocean, even though he was doing it on behalf of the Spanish catholic king. This name is the trademark of the MBA’s curriculum. (…)
The Magellan has yet another differentiating feature: “the partnership between the PBS and the Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh (USA) – one of the world leading universities in technology – has led to a dual degree that allows participants to simultaneously obtain a Master’s in Engineering from Carnegie and The Magellan MBA diploma from PBS.”
