Reyhaneh Mohsenzadeh Yazdi

Reyhaneh is an experienced socioeconomic, data statistics analyzer, and market analyst with a demonstrated history of working in the fields of industry, economics, education, and international commercial sectors since 2011. She received her Master’s degree in economic and social statistics from Shahid Beheshti University, Iran. Her main research interests are technology, management, sustainability, industry, business data engineering, and healthcare. Reyhaneh has been collaborating on various R&D projects in industry and besides, she has experience as a lecturer at the Science & Art University in the field of statistics, computers, foreign Trade, and probabilities.

Maximilian Vieweg

Maximilian Vieweg is currently pursuing a graduate degree in the Engineering and Public Policy Department at Carnegie Mellon University, focusing on Artificial Intelligence Policy. He previously obtained a master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at IST through the Erasmus Mundus master’s program Marine and Maritime Intelligent Robotics. Prior to that, he graduated from the Technical University of Vienna with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

João Paiva

My name is João Pedro Paiva, I am 24 years old, and I am from Covilhã, Portugal. I have been a student at Universidade da Beira Interior ever since 2017. I have a bachelor’s degree in Electromechanical Engineering and a master’s degree in Engineering and Industrial Management. My research areas include Smart cities, IoT, and Public Policies.

Brissa Acevedo

Brissa Acevedo holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University-Kingsville. Her undergraduate research focused on the adverse effects of shampoo, wastewater treatment, and renewable energy. Currently, Brissa researches community perceptions and impacts on regional decarbonization investments.

Diana Fernandes

Diana Vieira Fernandes is a PhD student in Engineering and Public Policy at Instituto Superior Técnico and Carnegie Mellon University under the CMU Portugal Program. She holds a Law Degree and a Master’s in Law and Management (NOVA Law School and NOVA SBE). Her research focuses on secure, distributed electricity markets in low-voltage networks.

António Brito

António is currently enrolled in the Ph.D. program in Information Science and Technology at ISCTE. He obtained his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Telecommunications and Computer Engineering from ISCTE. His research interests lie in spectrum sensing and sharing in future networks and establishing new public policies to use the spectrum more efficiently.

Afonso Amaral

Afonso holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from IST and specializes in Industry 4.0 maturity models. Currently, he researches the way domestic manufacturing of critical technologies shapes the world’s national competitiveness landscape and allows Nations to respond to product shortages through the adaptation of established regulation.

Rudolph Santarromana

Rudolph Santarromana’s research focuses on the social, political, and regulatory challenges to deploying low-carbon technologies. He received his B.S. from the University of Illinois, M.S from Instituto Superior Técnico, and finished his PhD in 2024 in Engineering and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University and Instituto Superior Técnico, receiving an award for “Outstanding Dissertation”. Prior to starting his PhD, he worked on projects with several organizations including EDP Renewables, the United Nations, and grassroots advocacy organizations.

 

Miguel Matos

Miguel Godinho de Matos received a Ph.D. in Engineering and Public Policy from CMU Portugal Program. Miguel also holds a MSc and BSc in Computer Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon. Miguel’s research interests focus on the analysis of digitization, social networks and peer influence on consumer behavior and consumer choice. Miguel’s work has been published in top journals such as Management Science, Marketing Science, Management Information Systems Quarterly, in the Journal of Management Information Systems as well as in top peer-reviewed research conferences such as the International Conference of Information Systems and the Economics of Digitization Seminar Series of the National Bureau of Economic Research.
